Introducing Future Voices 2024

The Voice of Domestic Workers are proud to be inviting applications from migrant domestic workers to take part in Future Voices our unique leadership programme in partnership with charity Sounddelivery Media

Migrant Domestic Workers are the backbone of our society, but we know that their voices and stories often go unheard. We need to be part of the conversations that affect us and have a seat around the table to influence change.  Our Future Voices programme is helping to make that happen.

Future Voices has been set up to equip a network of 36 Migrant Domestic Workers with the skills and confidence to share their experiences, have their expertise heard more widely, and ultimately drive public awareness and policy change. Over the last two years 24 migrant domestic workers have participated in the Future Voices programme. Participants have taken part in practical workshops in blogging, vlogging, interview preparation, presentation skills, media training and so much more.  They’ve had meetings with journalists and enjoyed a site  visit to Channel 4 News. They’ve been involved in media interviews including a report on Channel 4 news that went viral reaching an audience of over 8 million. In addition, Future Voices participants have spoken in Parliament, at international conferences and been able to put their training into practice advocating for the migrant domestic worker community.  Once they finish the programme they will join a network of migrant domestic workers who’ve been part of the training and will be offered opportunities to advocate for the community.
